View Article  Steve Rides the Shovel Head…
I’ve been in calendar mode for a good month now and a couple of weekends back I dragged Steve Mac and Mark Busby up to the Lakes for some pixs. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Lakes and Steve has too it seems. We had two days and figured two venues in different valleys would be cool. The weather wasn’t awesome as we went past Kendal so we figured that a low lying, easy access crag would be a good choice. I suggested Raven Crag, Langdale and Steve agreed; the question was would Steve fancy the ripe plums on offer?...   more »
View Article  KSP covers Peak rock…
A good friend of mine maintains that “guidebooks are a great shop-window for photographers” and as it happens, I agree. I’m dead chuffed therefore that a couple of the latest guides to the Peak, Ground Up’s Recent Developments on Peak Limestone and the BMC Froggatt, both have shots of mine in...   more »

“Je suis un Rock Star” - so proclaimed Big Ron to an admiring (female) onlooker at the end of a shoot for a climbing filming in the Verdon in the early Eighties – or at least so the story goes!   more »
View Article  climbing:2010 now rolling off the press…
Do the years just seem to roll by to you? Yeah, same for me – especially since I’ve been in the calendar business; man they seem to zip bye! Anyway back at the point, I heard today that Climbing:2010, my sixth rock climbing calendar, is now rolling off the printing press at Printworks in Sheffield. Next up is collating, trimming, binding, shrink-wrapping and then... bingo – it’s time to start shipping! ETA is, at the moment, a (known) unknown – but it’s pretty darned soon so watch this space…   more »

View Article  Wanna go Sport Climbing?
I jumped onto the sport climbing band-wagon shortly after it started rolling in the mid 80’s and, save for winter/spring bouldering forays and the odd ‘away-day’ on the grit or in the mountains, I’ve been sport climbing ever since. Burning considerable midnight oil in the process, I eventually managed to shoe-horn as many tips and techniques that I’ve not forgotten into...   more »
